Seven Main Chakras
Understanding the chakra system is one way of understanding the layers of growth. There are seven main chakras in the body. The word Chakra is Sanskrit and translates to “wheel” or “disk”. Our life force energy, known in Sanskrit as“ Prana”, travels though these centers and aids us in maintaining balance. The seven main chakras start at the root and move upward to the crown in the follower order: root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye, and crown. Each of these chakras are identified by the color of their frequency and by a symbol. Each chakra center has associated organs and glands. The first three chakras which include the root, sacral, and solar plexus, are associated with our human connection, while the upper chakras are associated with our spiritual body and our connection to source. Once all seven Chakras are opened and in balance we are able to connect our soul and body as one.
